Project Fluttershy: My Little Pony Costume

Jordan requested a "girlish" costume this year! After Sarge from Toy Story and Shamu these last two years, I was surprised when she chose to be one of the characters from My Little Pony.  (Though, her other choice was Mario from Super Mario Brothers.)

After many, many conversations over which of the five ponies she should be, she picked ALL of them.  I, of course, suggested a compromise.  She eventually agreed to be Fluttershy because she LOVES animals.

She wore the costume to a festival at my school.  That wig came off after about 5 minutes.

She is the cutest pony ever!

Mourning our Tooth!

Jordan was so excited about losing one of her top front teeth (lost tooth #3, mind you)!

Now that the time has come to place it under her pillow and say goodbye, she is having trouble letting go!  Heartbreaking, yet mom and dad are finding it hard not to laugh uncontrollably.  We were asked to take some pictures to honor this lovely tooth.

I miss my tooth!  Do you think the tooth fairy will give it back?

Poor, sensitive child.

Kindergarten Celebration of Learning

Jordan's class celebrated the end of the year with song and poetry.  Parents were invited to view work, sit in little tiny chairs and at tiny tables, and enjoy a special performance.

Jordan and Daddy
With Mommy

Jordan and Mrs. Williams
Dressed up for the occasion, they performed songs and read poetry with their "poem buddies".  Jordan read a poem about dogs with her "buddy" and "future husband".  I wonder who was in charge of choosing the topic!
They showed Moms and Dads a portfolio of the years' work and growth.
Mrs. Williams wrote her own poem for the class.
 Each student received a diploma.
Jordan was promoted to 1st Grade!

Then we took silly pictures with friends!

Silly faces
Sadly, Jordan has been rezoned to a new school next year.  Luckily, many of her classmates will be there, too, including her "husband to be"!

Skating Party

Jordan was invited to a skating party this weekend.  I grew up skating, but she has only been once and it was highly unsuccessful.  I have NO idea how to teach her to skate either.  She has some beginner skates so we practiced once last weekend.  I was not at all optimistic that this party would be much fun.  Luckily, I was proven wrong.  She had a great time.  Out of all the kids at the party, only 2 of them could really skate so they were all falling down.  It was hilarious.  They have these carts made of PVC pipe with wheels that they can push around the rink.  By the end of the party, she was able to make it all the way around the rink on her own without the cart.  There was still a lot of falling down, but that was part of the fun.
