My Big Girl

Today was Jordan's first day of Kindergarten!  I was unable to drop her off since it was also MY first day of school with students.  So Daddy drove her, waited in the hot weather (even that early in the morning), and walked her into the Kindergarten area.  He was armed with cameras so that I could enjoy her day, too. She was dressed in a cute purple flowered dress with pink leggings and sparkly light-up shoes.  Her new backpack and lunch box had a cute orange kitty cat.  She had a fresh, stylish, big-girl haircut and a beautiful smile.  She arrived at Mr. Bryant's room and got straight to work on the handout he placed at her chair.

Ready
She made it happily through the day, and was excited to return tomorrow.  Sadly, we received a letter that the numbers in the Kindergarten classes were high.  They are adding a new teacher, and Jordan is one of the students that will be moved to the new classroom.  As a teacher, I completely understand that it has to be done.  As a Mommy, telling her that she would be changing teachers was heartbreaking.  She seemed pretty upset. We believe that she bonded with Mr. Bryant, and would benefit from being in his class.  However, we will be team players and make the best of the situation.

Working hard
On a funny note, Daddy went out and braved the stores on Tax-free weekend!  Mostly because our coffee pot blew out and we could not start school or even last ONE day without coffee.  He came home with a coffee pot, as well as some cute clothes for Jordan.  (yes, he does enjoy buying her cute little outfits) He had some t-shirts and matching skirts and shorts.  He also had dress type shirts and leggings and some jeans.  One particular pair was cotton, but looked like jeans-style leggings.  When Jordan saw them, she screamed with joy, "Pajama Jeans!!!"  Yes, I do believe she pays attention to all of those infomercials.  So, she will be wearing "Pajama Jeans" to her SECOND day of kindergarten.
