Rodeo Girl

I started sewing a dress for Jordan to wear during rodeo time.  It is a big deal here in Houston.  I decided to make it a little bigger so that she could wear it more than once.  I would work on it for a few days, and then I would reach a difficult point in the sewing.  I would then put it away for a while.  Now 2 years later, Jordan has a Kindergarten Rodeo day.  I dug in this weekend and finally finished the outfit.  It is a good thing I made the bigger size that long ago.  It fits perfectly!!

Thanks for Donating!

Thank you, friends and family!
I am so excited to jump tomorrow!  I made a fundraising goal of $100, and I have raised $155!!  This money will go to the American Heart Association.  I hope it will help save many lives.  I am not great at jump-roping yet, but I will try my best!

It is still not too late to donate online.  The minimum donation labeled is $25, but if you click the "surprise me" donation button you can enter any amount you wish.  Even one dollar helps.  I love all of you very much.  If you would still like to donate, please visit my webpage!

Panini Anyone?

I am a panini-makin' fool! Sandwiches are so much nicer when they are slightly crispy on the outside and gooey/cheesy on the inside.  Thanks, Kapra!
This is my new panini press!
This is my yummy sandwich with pastrami, pepper jack cheese, and spicy mustard.
Delicious!

New Favorite Thing

I love Blake's Christmas present from my sister, Kapra!  It is a coffee press.  Blake has been wanting one for a long time.  It's our new favorite weekend treat.

100 Days of School Equals Big Celebration

Jordan's entire Kindergarten grade level celebrated 100 days of school today!  Apparently, it is a big deal.   Parents were asked several weeks ago to work on a special shirt with 100 things sewn, taped, or glued on it.  Jordan wanted cats.  We used a mixture of buttons, beads, and stickers that added up to one hundred.  It took several rounds of counting to make sure we had enough once we got them all on there.  I also had a couple of blisters from the hot glue I used.  Jordan was in charge of the stickers.

Today she wore her shirt with pride (which was also PURPLE to represent their character trait for the month, HONOR).  They celebrated by having a parade around the school with special hats they made for the occasion.  MEOW!
